Honda has announced that the Honda WN7 electric motorcycle has been awarded the Gold Award in the Product Design category at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026, one of the most prestigious global design competitions. This marks the first time a Honda product has received the top distinction at the event.

The Honda WN7 electric motorcycle represents the brand’s first electric naked model in the FUN category and was developed under the concept “Be the Wind.” The project reflects a focus on lightweight construction, functional design, and a new approach to electric mobility.

A frameless architecture, where the battery case serves as the main structural element, allows for greater layout flexibility and reduced weight. The model delivers up to 50 kW of power and 100 Nm of torque, offering performance comparable to larger displacement internal combustion motorcycles while maintaining smooth and controlled riding characteristics.

The design combines clean, flowing surfaces with a strong and recognizable silhouette. Key elements include a horizontal headlight signature and a black-based color scheme with gold accents, emphasizing both modernity and premium detailing.

According to the iF jury,
“The Honda WN7 electric motorcycle masterfully combines classic motorbike DNA with a confident electric identity. It respects Honda’s legacy while embracing clean-energy aesthetics.”

“The synthesis feels authentic, not forced, resulting in a unique design that is more than the sum of its parts.”

The recognition highlights the growing importance of design in the transition to electric mobility, as manufacturers continue to balance heritage with new technological directions.
