KTM has announced a recall affecting its 2024 model year Duke lineup as part of a preventive measure aimed at ensuring continued safety, reliability, and rider confidence. The recall applies to the KTM 125 Duke, 250 Duke, 390 Duke, and 990 Duke models and involves the replacement of the fuel tank cap seal.

According to KTM, affected motorcycles must be taken to an authorized KTM dealership, where technicians will carry out a precautionary exchange of the fuel tank cap seal. The decision follows internal quality testing that revealed certain seals may not fully meet the company’s strict quality standards.

KTM explained that material deviations in the fuel tank cap seal could lead to the development of small cracks over time. In such cases, this may create the possibility of fuel leakage around the tank cap area. While no widespread incidents have been reported, the manufacturer has chosen to act proactively to eliminate any potential risk and maintain its commitment to rider safety and product integrity.

Owners who have already taken delivery of the affected motorcycles are being contacted directly by letter and are advised to contact an authorized KTM dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for the replacement. KTM also notes that customers can independently verify whether their motorcycle is included in the recall by visiting the Service section of the official KTM website.

The replacement of the fuel tank cap seal will be carried out free of charge and exclusively through KTM’s authorized dealer network. This approach ensures that the procedure is completed according to factory specifications and that each motorcycle continues to operate safely and reliably.

KTM stated that the recall reflects the company’s highest priority of protecting its customers and preserving the trust riders place in the KTM brand. By addressing the issue at an early stage, KTM aims to uphold uncompromising safety standards across its motorcycle lineup.
