Yamaha has expanded its Sport Scooter lineup for the 2026 model year with the launch of the new NMAX 155 Tech MAX, a model that brings advanced technology and distinctive MAX-inspired styling to the popular 155cc segment. Equipped with Yamaha’s new YECVT system and positioned as a premium urban scooter, the NMAX 155 Tech MAX is designed to offer riders a more engaging and versatile riding experience.

At the heart of the new model is the YECVT, or Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission. This system allows riders to choose between two engine performance modes, Sport and Town, depending on riding conditions and personal preference. A newly introduced downshift function provides instant access to stronger acceleration and increased engine braking, delivering a more controlled and dynamic feel that closely resembles the response of a geared motorcycle.

In Sport mode, the NMAX 155 Tech MAX delivers noticeably stronger engine braking than in Town mode, particularly in the mid-speed range between 60 km/h and 30 km/h. Mode selection is managed via the left-hand switchgear, and the system is designed to remember the last selected mode even after the scooter is switched off and restarted, ensuring a seamless daily riding experience.

Technology is a key focus of the new NMAX 155 Tech MAX. The scooter features a 4.2-inch full-color connected dashboard, regarded as one of the most advanced displays in its class. The layout combines a main TFT screen with integrated Garmin Navigation, alongside an LCD display for clear and intuitive access to riding information. When paired with a smartphone via the MyRide App, riders can listen to music, handle incoming calls, and view email and SMS notifications, helping them stay connected while on the move.

The NMAX 155 Tech MAX also clearly reflects its heritage within Yamaha’s iconic MAX family. From every angle, the scooter showcases dynamic proportions and premium design details. MAX-inspired boomerang motifs, full LED lighting, and compact bodywork contribute to a sharp and modern appearance. Enhancing the premium feel further is a high-quality dual seat finished in a black leather-look material with gold stitching, suede accents, and welded embossing, reinforcing the Tech MAX positioning.

For 2026, the new NMAX 155 Tech MAX is offered in two sophisticated color options: Crystal Graphite and Midnight Black. Both finishes underline the scooter’s upscale character and make it a standout choice for riders seeking a blend of performance, technology, and refined urban style.
