Motocross legend Antonio Cairoli is set to make a thrilling return to the MXGP grid at the 2024 MXGP of Great Britain, riding a third official Ducati Desmo450 MX for the Aruba.it – Ducati Factory MX Team.
Taking place from June 20 to 22 at the Matterley Basin circuit near Winchester, Hampshire, this 12th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship will see the Ducati team expand its roster. In addition to regular season riders Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini, nine-time Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli will once again line up behind the gate.
Cairoli, who made an appearance earlier this year at the Grand Prix of Trentino aboard the Desmo450 MX, is no stranger to success at Matterley Basin. The Sicilian superstar has earned six MXGP victories at the British venue between 2011 and 2021, all in the premier class. His legendary performance at the inaugural 2006 Grand Prix of Nations also stands out, where he claimed victory on a 250cc bike against more powerful 450cc machines.
His return to Matterley Basin promises to be a highlight of the season, bringing excitement to fans and strengthening Ducati’s footprint in the motocross world.
