The Kawasaki Z900RS has once again claimed the “Motorcycle of the Year 2026” title, marking its ninth straight victory in the annual reader poll organized by Germany’s leading motorcycle publication MOTORRAD. The model secured first place in the highly competitive “Modern Classics” category, reinforcing its dominance in the segment.

The 2026 poll attracted 46,737 participants and evaluated 274 motorcycles across 13 categories, making it one of the most influential industry rankings. The Kawasaki Z900RS and its SE variant achieved 23.3 percent of the votes, maintaining a clear lead over key competitors. The BMW R12 and R 12 nineT followed with 16.1 percent, while the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 took third place with 9.9 percent.
Since its debut in 2018, the Kawasaki Z900RS has consistently led the modern classics category without interruption. This long-standing success highlights the model’s strong appeal among riders and its established reputation in the market.
The Z900RS blends retro-inspired styling with modern engineering. Its design pays tribute to the iconic Kawasaki Z1, while integrating current technology and performance features. The in-line four-cylinder engine delivers smooth and responsive power, supported by balanced handling that suits both daily riding and longer journeys.
In addition to its design and performance, the model continues to stand out for its practicality and reliability. These qualities have helped position the Z900RS as a key offering in the Kawasaki lineup and a benchmark within the modern classics segment.
Kawasaki also recorded a notable result in the “Naked Bike” category. The 2026 Kawasaki Z900 secured third place, further strengthening the brand’s presence across multiple segments.
The continued recognition of the Z900RS reflects strong market demand and consistent rider approval. With nine consecutive titles, the model maintains its position as one of the most successful motorcycles in its class.
