Despite an early setback in the Superpole Race, Nicolò Bulega salvaged a critical second-place finish during Sunday’s WorldSBK main race at Misano. Teammate Álvaro Bautista also impressed, returning to the podium with a strong P3 result.

Bulega Recovers from First-Corner Crash to Finish Second

Sunday began in dramatic fashion for Bulega, who started the Superpole Race from pole position. However, his race was derailed at Turn 1 when Axel Bassani executed a risky maneuver that resulted in a crash. Race Direction later classified the move as irresponsible.

Forced to start the main race from tenth on the grid, Bulega displayed grit and determination. By lap five, the Italian rider had surged into second place. Although the gap to leader Toprak Razgatlıoğlu was too large to close, Bulega’s comeback earned him valuable championship points and showcased his resilience.

Bautista’s Strong Race Pace Secures Third Place

Álvaro Bautista delivered a solid performance in the Superpole Race, finishing fifth and earning a second-row start for the main event. The Spanish rider capitalized on the improved grid position and demonstrated exceptional race pace, ultimately securing third place on the podium.

Both riders leave Misano with positive momentum as the championship heads into the next round.
