ISTANBUL, Türkiye – August 1, 2025 – Honda Turkiye A.S. (HTR) has officially announced plans to establish a new motorcycle production facility in Aliaga, İzmir, marking a major step in the company’s regional growth strategy. The move aims to respond to rising motorcycle demand both domestically and in global markets, particularly after the transportation shifts driven by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Turkish motorcycle market has seen rapid expansion in recent years, with increased demand for personal mobility and the booming delivery sector accelerating sales. Reflecting this trend, Honda Turkiye achieved a record-breaking performance in 2024, with annual sales totaling 162,000 units.
Construction of the new factory is set to begin shortly, with operations expected to commence by mid-2026. At launch, the plant will have a production capacity of 100,000 motorcycles per year, with scalable infrastructure allowing for an eventual increase to 200,000 units annually.
Honda has earmarked an investment of approximately 20 million USD, covering both construction and equipment costs. The new facility is expected to generate around 300 new jobs, creating opportunities in the local economy and reinforcing Honda’s long-term commitment to Türkiye.
“With this new investment, Honda Turkiye aims to strengthen local production activities and contribute to the development of the motorcycle industry in Turkiye by providing high-quality, affordable, and attractive products,” said the company in its official announcement.
Beyond enhancing production capabilities, the new factory will serve as a critical hub for sustained market development in Türkiye and surrounding regions, aligning with Honda’s global strategy to localize manufacturing and streamline supply chains.
