Matterley Basin, United Kingdom – Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP and Romain Febvre delivered another masterclass in consistency and speed, clinching their fourth overall Grand Prix victory of the 2025 FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship at the British Grand Prix. Febvre’s dominant performance strengthens his hold on both the riders’ and manufacturers’ standings, marking his eleventh podium finish in just twelve rounds.
In Sunday’s opening moto, Febvre quickly advanced from sixth to fifth on the opening lap. Despite a hard push to challenge the leaders, he ultimately settled for third place at the chequered flag. However, strategic adjustments between races paid off.
The second moto saw Febvre storm to his fourth holeshot of the season, seizing control into turn one. From there, the Frenchman set the fastest laps of the weekend and built a commanding lead over his rivals, maintaining complete control to secure his fourth GP win of the year.
Febvre’s triumph extends his advantage atop the MXGP championship by 32 points, ensuring he retains the prestigious “Red Plate” as series leader heading into the next round.
Romain Febvre: “I actually had a really good jump in the first moto; the track was harder than I expected. I could come close to the guys at the front but in the end they had a little more pace in some places so I couldn’t mount a challenge. We went back to my regular tyres for the second race and made some small changes to the suspension I took the holeshot and that changed my life! I could ride free, take my own lines and control the race.”
