FIM and Fly Actions Launch New Freestyle GP World Championship

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) has announced the creation of the FIM Freestyle GP World Championship, a new global series set to elevate Freestyle motocross on the world stage. Developed in partnership with veteran promoter Fly Actions, the series will debut in December 2025 as the FIM Freestyle GP World Cup before officially becoming a full World Championship in 2027.

The historic five-year agreement was signed on June 17, 2025, in Pamplona, Spain, by FIM President Jorge Viegas and Fly Actions Director Patxi Larrea.

“The agreement with the FIM marks a turning point for Freestyle at the international level. Our goal is to offer a championship that combines the highest sporting standards with a dynamic, accessible and exciting format for fans around the world,” said Larrea.

“The FIM is firmly committed to the development of the Freestyle discipline… This championship represents a key step for its international expansion,” added Viegas.

With over 25 years of expertise in organizing elite motocross, supercross, and freestyle events, Fly Actions will help structure the series across multiple continents. The inaugural round is confirmed for December 20, 2025, in Pamplona, with two additional rounds planned in February and October 2026 at yet-to-be-announced venues in Europe.

This ambitious initiative marks a new era for Freestyle motocross, bringing a global platform, professional infrastructure, and elite-level competition to the discipline.
