Donington Park, UK – July 13, 2025 – The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team delivered a strong showing at Round 6 of the 2025 WorldSBK Championship as Nicolò Bulega finished second and Alvaro Bautista claimed third in Race 2 at Donington Park.

Following a competitive weekend, both Ducati riders stood on the podium once again, showcasing consistent race pace and strategic riding despite the challenges posed by the technical British circuit.

Bulega, who also finished second in Saturday’s Race 1, had a more aggressive pace in Race 2. Although his launch off the line wasn’t ideal, he managed to overtake both Jonathan Rea and Andrea Locatelli before engaging in a close fight with Bautista and pushing to close the gap with race leader Toprak Razgatlioglu (BMW). On lap five, Bulega clocked the fastest lap, narrowing the margin to just one second behind the leader, but Razgatlioglu managed the pace perfectly to hold onto victory.

“We knew it would be a difficult weekend on a circuit that doesn’t suit either the characteristics of our bike or my riding style… finishing a tricky weekend three times in second place is a positive result,” said Nicolò Bulega (#11).

Meanwhile, Alvaro Bautista maximized his result in the Superpole Race, which enabled him to start fourth on the grid for Race 2. A strong opening saw him maintain contact with the lead group, although he wasn’t able to stay with the front two in the early laps. His pace improved in the final laps, allowing him to challenge Bulega in a late-race battle.

“From the middle of the race, however, my pace improved lap after lap and allowed me to catch up with Bulega on the last lap… there was no point in attempting an aggressive overtaking manoeuvre,” commented Alvaro Bautista (#19).

With both riders on the podium, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team strengthens its standing in the team rankings and continues to push forward in the WorldSBK title chase. The championship battle intensifies as the series prepares for the next round.
