Sachsenring, Germany — July 13, 2025 – Marc Márquez delivered a landmark performance at the MotoGP Grand Prix of Germany, securing a historic ninth Sachsenring victory and his 69th career win in the premier class. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider led from pole and never looked back, taking his seventh Sunday race win of the season and extending his lead in the championship standings.
The race marked Márquez’s 200th MotoGP start, and he celebrated it in style by dominating the 30-lap contest from start to finish. His incredible pace allowed him to build a gap in the mid-race stages and cross the line unchallenged.
“It’s obviously wonderful to celebrate my 200th Grand Prix with a win… The asphalt was slippery, but I rode well and stayed focused – something that will be key for the second half of the season,” said Marc Márquez.
Ducati made it a full sweep of the podium with Alex Márquez (Gresini Racing) taking second place and Francesco Bagnaia completing a strong comeback to secure third. Starting from 11th, Bagnaia climbed steadily through the field and managed his race amid tricky conditions.
“Temperatures were lower than last year… no matter where I start, I always finish in third – and clearly, we need to change something,” Bagnaia commented.
The Sachsenring podium further consolidates Ducati’s dominance in both the team and manufacturer standings. Marc Márquez now leads the riders’ championship with 344 points, 83 points ahead of brother Alex. Bagnaia holds third with 197 points. Ducati Lenovo Team leads the teams’ table with 541 points, while Ducati tops the manufacturers’ standings at 393 points.
The MotoGP paddock now shifts focus to Brno, Czech Republic, for Round 12 of the 2025 season, with action resuming on Friday, July 18.
