Mugello, Italy – Saturday, MotoGP 2025
- Alex Márquez makes it an all-Ducati podium in second place with the Desmosedici GP of the Gresini Racing Team
Marc Márquez delivered a commanding performance to secure victory in the Sprint Race of the Brembo Grand Prix of Italy at the iconic Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. Racing for the Ducati Lenovo Team, Márquez surged past early challenges to claim first place in the 11-lap battle, with teammate Francesco Bagnaia securing a solid third.

Starting from pole for the 100th time in his illustrious career, Márquez faced a minor hiccup off the line but quickly recovered with a decisive charge. He reclaimed ground within the opening lap and overtook the lead on lap four, maintaining control until the finish line.
Bagnaia, who led into Turn 1, showed strong racecraft throughout the contest, managing pressure from rivals to complete the podium and strengthen his position in the overall standings.
The Ducati Lenovo Team is now gearing up for Sunday’s full-distance race, which marks the ninth round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship. The action resumes with warm-up at 9:40 a.m., followed by the 23-lap feature race at 14:00 local time (GMT +2).
Marc Márquez (#93 Ducati Lenovo Team) – 1st Place: “I got a little confused at the start, but then luckily I was in the right position and on the right line through the first three corners, so I could get close to Alex. At this track, I feel comfortable staying behind my main rivals, but this morning I had a really good feeling riding on my own and managing the limit. Tomorrow’s race will be more challenging, as Alex is very consistent and Pecco usually makes a good step forward on Sundays. It’ll be key to make the correct choice with the front tyre, as extremely high track temperatures are expected.”
