Brno, Czechia – July 20, 2025 – A historic day unfolded at the Automotodrom Brno as Marc Márquez etched his name in Ducati lore. Riding the Ducati Lenovo Team’s Desmosedici GP, he became the first-ever rider for the Bologna-based manufacturer to achieve five consecutive Grand Prix victories in MotoGP. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia delivered a strong performance but narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in a stunning closing half-second.
Márquez, starting from pole, held second in the early stages before briefly taking the lead and dropping back to third. Undeterred, he reclaimed second on lap two, trailing Bezzecchi until lap eight. At Turn 3, he executed a calculated overtake, pulling away decisively for the remainder of the race. Bagnaia, despite a solid start and mid-race surge, could not mount a podium challenge.
With this win, Márquez increases his tally to 381 points, now leading by a remarkable 120 points over teammate Alex Márquez, while Bagnaia sits third, 168 points behind. The Ducati Lenovo Team retains top honors in the teams’ standings (594 points), and Ducati continues to dominate the manufacturers’ chart with 430 points.
The championship pauses for the summer break before resuming at the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg, scheduled for August 15–17.
“I felt really good on the bike… As soon as I noticed the first drop in terms of grip, I overtook him and pulled a gap… I’m very happy, I enjoyed this first part of the season: the team and the engineers have really done an excellent job,” said Marc Márquez (#93).
Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, praised the performance with measured optimism:
“Marc delivered another outstanding performance—it looked easy, but it was anything but. The work done in this first part of the season was perfect… Pecco showed some improvements in the race… We’re aware that he’s still not fully comfortable but we’re making steps forward; he’s giving his all, and it shows. The results will come, I’m sure of it.”
