Brno, Czechia – Under the blazing Czech sun and before a capacity crowd of 95,700 fans, Pedro Acosta delivered a standout performance at the MotoGP Grand Prix of Czechia, claiming third place—his and KTM RC16’s first main-event podium of the 2025 season. The young Spaniard added this to his second-place finish in the Saturday Sprint, capping off a triumphant weekend at Brno for Red Bull KTM.

Key Highlights:

  • Acosta thrived on the newly resurfaced, high-grip Brno circuit during the full 21-lap race, holding off competition to secure his first podium since Thailand 2024.
  • The Czech Grand Prix marked the first return of MotoGP to the Automotodrom Brno after a five-year hiatus. In 2020, the circuit hosted KTM’s inaugural premier-class win with Brad Binder.
  • The weekend began brightly for KTM: Acosta’s P2 finish in the Sprint was closely followed by Enea Bastianini’s P3, earning the team its first Prosecco celebration of the year.

Starting from P7, Acosta quickly positioned himself near the front. He locked onto Marco Bezzecchi’s rear wheel as he fought for second, and ultimately had to defend his podium spot during the final laps as tyre degradation began. Bastianini, meanwhile, had reached P4 before a gravel excursion at Turn 3 on lap 7 forced a premature exit—though he emerged unharmed and optimistic following his most competitive outing of the season.

Behind them, Brad Binder and Pol Espargaró put on spirited rides, finishing P8 and P9 respectively, showcasing KTM’s strength across the board.

With two high-pressure double-header weekends now behind them, MotoGP enters a summer break before resuming at the Red Bull Ring in Austria from August 15–17—a home race for KTM.

“The last time I was on the podium was in Thailand last year and it’s been a long journey to come back here. I want to thank all my orange crew: it was not easy for them, also to handle me when we had tough moments! We’ll keep going. We’ll have a break now and try for more at Red Bull Ring,” said Pedro Acosta, now third in the championship standings.
