Magny-Cours, France – September 7, 2025 — The French Round of the 2025 WorldSBK Championship concluded with a strong showing from the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team, as Nicolò Bulega secured second place in both the Superpole Race and Race 2, while teammate Álvaro Bautista delivered a stunning comeback to finish fourth.
Bulega got off to a promising start on Sunday, staying close to Toprak Razgatlioglu (BMW) in the opening laps. Despite his determination, the relentless pace of the Turkish rider proved unmatchable once again. Still, Bulega avoided mistakes and earned a crucial second-place finish, collecting valuable championship points for Ducati.
Bautista, meanwhile, experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. In the Superpole Race, he launched aggressively from the grid and climbed through the pack, only to crash after being caught out by Jonathan Rea’s sudden braking maneuver. Forced to restart from 14th on the grid for Race 2, Bautista put on a spectacular recovery ride. Lap after lap, his pace allowed him to climb into the top five. With six laps remaining, he surged past rivals to claim fourth, even attempting a late charge at Alex Lowes (Bimota) for the final podium spot, though the gap proved too wide to close.
Speaking after the race, Nicolò Bulega emphasized the team’s determination:
“It was a weekend in which we took the maximum points that were within our reach. We will work to take the step that will allow us to return to being competitive as we were in the first part of the season. Even though we haven’t won in four weekends, no one intends to give up an inch, and we will go to Aragon more determined than ever.”
With Aragón up next (September 26–28), Ducati remains firmly in the championship battle, relying on the consistency of Bulega and the relentless fighting spirit of Bautista. Fans can expect fireworks as the title race intensifies in the final rounds of the season.
