Kawasaki has announced that its retro-inspired Z650RS will arrive in 2026 with three fresh colour schemes, continuing the legacy of a model that has become a fan favourite since its launch in 2022.

The Z650RS draws inspiration from the iconic Z650-B1 of 1976, blending heritage styling with modern technology. Kawasaki describes the model as one that captures “a seemingly timeless approach to styling,” first pioneered by the legendary Z1 Super Four and later reinforced by the Z650-B1.

Although its appearance recalls the golden era of 1970s motorcycling, the Z650RS features contemporary equipment, including ABS, dual throttle valves, 2-Mode traction control, and an assist and slipper clutch as standard. Traditional design touches remain intact with classic needle-style meters and a round LED headlamp, merging old-school looks with modern performance.

For many riders, colour choice is the deciding factor when purchasing a new bike. Kawasaki confirmed that for the 2026 model year, the Z650RS will be offered in three distinct shades: Ebony, Metallic Ocean Blue, and Candy Emerald Green. These will be available across both the full-power 50.2 kW (68 PS) version and the A2 licence-compliant 35.0 kW (48 PS) variant.

Kawasaki says these updates are not just about looks but about strengthening the Z650RS legacy. By 2026, the model will mark exactly 50 years since the original Z650 was introduced, giving riders a sense of belonging to a heritage line that has stood the test of time.

As Kawasaki puts it, owning a Z650RS delivers “a unique feeling and a super special bike” — a combination of classic styling, modern engineering, and now three new colours to choose from.
