Munich, Germany – At the IAA Mobility 2025 motor show, BMW Group has revealed the BMW Motorrad Vision CE, a forward-looking concept designed to redefine electric, single-track mobility in urban environments. The new model underlines BMW’s leadership in connected, sustainable two-wheel transport while offering a glimpse into the future of city commuting.

Unlike traditional motorcycles, the Vision CE introduces a radical concept that eliminates the need for a helmet or protective clothing. Instead, it offers riders a more casual, open, and carefree experience while maintaining safety through innovative engineering. BMW positions the model as a milestone that sets new standards in design and functionality for urban mobility.
Continuation of BMW’s Electromobility Strategy
The Vision CE concept is fully aligned with BMW Group’s long-term sustainability goals. The company has consistently reimagined urban transportation with emission-free, groundbreaking designs. In 2014, BMW Motorrad became the first premium brand to pair electric drive technology with distinctive design in the BMW C evolution.
This was followed by the market launch of the BMW CE 04 in 2022, now considered a benchmark in emission-free city mobility and the global leader in its segment. Two years later, in 2024, BMW introduced the BMW CE 02, a compact, electric two-wheeler aimed at a younger audience with its casual and accessible style.
Building on Past Innovations
The Vision CE concept also draws inspiration from the BMW C1, introduced 25 years ago. That model broke new ground by integrating a protective safety frame that allowed riders to forgo helmets and conventional gear. The new concept carries forward that philosophy with a fresh interpretation, blending emotional design language with advanced safety technology.
Safety at the Core
The central element of the BMW Motorrad Vision CE is a composite metal tube structure, referred to as the “cage.” Paired with a dedicated seat and integrated seat belt, the cage ensures rider safety without the need for conventional protective equipment.
The cage’s design emphasizes lightness and dynamism, thanks to its reduced height and open architecture. A long wheelbase further enhances stability, while the exposed use of coated aluminum highlights the vehicle’s technical sophistication. The minimalist color palette – matte white and contrasting black – gives the Vision CE a sculptural presence, complemented by neon red details and a matte seat with integrated lettering.
Advanced Features and Self-Balancing
A notable innovation is the self-balancing function, allowing the motorcycle to remain stable even when stationary. This feature enhances practicality in everyday use while adding to the futuristic appeal of the concept.
According to BMW, the Vision CE is designed not only as a mode of transport but also as an emotional statement about the future of urban two-wheel mobility. Different derivatives of the model highlight its versatility, catering to diverse rider lifestyles.
The unveiling of the BMW Motorrad Vision CE reaffirms BMW’s position at the forefront of innovation in the two-wheeler industry, blending sustainability, safety, and style in a way that challenges conventional expectations of urban mobility.
