Pedro Acosta (#37) battles for the podium at the TT Circuit Assen, finishing fourth for Red Bull KTM in round ten of the 2025 MotoGP season.

The historic TT Circuit Assen provided another thrilling chapter in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship as Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Pedro Acosta narrowly missed out on a podium, finishing fourth, while Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Maverick Viñales secured fifth place in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 109,500 spectators.

Under clear skies and warm race conditions, riders took on the flat, flowing 18 corners of the Assen circuit—the only venue to feature in all but one of the 76 seasons of FIM world championship racing. The event also marked the centennial celebration of motorcycle racing at this iconic Dutch track.

Pedro Acosta, starting from ninth on the grid, was quick to climb through the pack during the 26-lap Grand Prix, finding himself locked in a fierce five-rider battle for podium positions. Despite his efforts, the Spaniard crossed the finish line in P4, marking his third fourth-place result of the season and strengthening his position as KTM’s top-ranked rider in the standings.

Maverick Viñales continues to push Acosta for the title of KTM’s lead contender. The experienced rider started from tenth, advanced to sixth during the race, and overtook Franco Morbidelli to secure fifth place, marking his third top-five finish of the year. However, rear tire degradation in the closing laps prevented further gains.

Elsewhere in the KTM camp, Enea Bastianini showed promising progress with his KTM RC16, equalling his season-best finish of ninth place, previously achieved in Thailand and Spain. Starting from 20th, Bastianini executed a strong race, overtaking Brad Binder in the latter stages to secure crucial points.

Brad Binder, starting from the sixth row, recovered seven positions to finish 11th, battling front-end instability but delivering a consistent performance to stay inside the points.

KTM also celebrated success in Moto3, where Jose Antonio Rueda claimed his sixth win of the season aboard the KTM RC4, extending his lead in the championship. His teammate, Alvaro Carpe, secured second in the standings, while Valentin Perrone earned his first Moto3 podium as a rookie, finishing third.

With ten rounds completed, Pedro Acosta remains the highest-placed KTM rider in the MotoGP standings with 98 points. The championship now heads into a brief break before the upcoming double-header at Germany’s Sachsenring and the Czech Republic’s Brno Circuit.
