Bezzecchi Delivers Another Strong MotoGP Result
The 2025 San Marino Grand Prix at Misano brought another strong weekend for Aprilia Racing, highlighted by Marco Bezzecchi’s second-place finish on Sunday. Following his Sprint victory the day before, Bezzecchi delivered an inspired ride in front of his home fans, marking his ninth podium of the season and further cementing his status as one of MotoGP’s standout riders.
Race Highlights from Misano
The Italian rider surged into the lead at the first corner and held it with determination for much of the race. Despite losing the top spot midway through, Bezzecchi stayed in contention until the checkered flag, ultimately finishing just 0.568 seconds behind the winner. This result added to his growing list of achievements in 2025, including Saturday’s Sprint triumph and his memorable main race victory earlier in the season at Silverstone.
Martín Faces Early Setback
For Jorge Martín, the race presented major challenges. His machine stalled on the formation lap, forcing a return to the pits and a restart on his second bike. The incident resulted in two long lap penalties, pushing him to the back of the grid. Despite the adversity, Martín persevered, demonstrating resilience and a focus on long-term improvement.
Rider Reactions
Marco Bezzecchi – Aprilia Racing
“It was wonderful. I’m happy because I gave it absolutely everything. Of course, I’m disappointed because I wanted to win – I really wanted it with all my heart. We had incredible pace, and being able to keep that speed right to the end was amazing.”
Jorge Martín – Aprilia Racing
“When I reached Turn 13, I saw the bike was shutting down. I tried to restart it, but nothing happened. So I got off and started running back to the pit. By the time I arrived, the pit lane had already closed, and I was told I would start from my original grid position but with two long lap penalties. I think I handled the situation very maturely. With two long laps, it’s hard to recover, so I focused on gaining as much experience as possible and identifying areas where I can improve as a racer.”
