Suzuki has officially revealed the UK prices for its highly anticipated DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models, which were first showcased at EICMA last November. These new additions build upon the legacy of the iconic DR-Z400 platform, blending modern performance with Suzuki’s renowned dual-sport reliability.

Both models will be priced at £7,999 on the road and are set to arrive in UK dealerships later this summer.

The DR-Z4S is designed as a capable off-road machine, equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, along with long-travel KYB suspension—offering 280mm of fork travel and 296mm at the rear—to tackle demanding terrain. Its supermoto sibling, the DR-Z4SM, comes with 17-inch wheels and a revised suspension setup featuring 260mm of front travel and 277mm at the rear, ideal for urban environments and twisty roads.

Both models are powered by Suzuki’s updated 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC four-stroke engine—an evolution of the proven DR-Z400 powerplant—offering improved torque and linear throttle response for greater versatility on trails and tarmac.

The DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM both feature Suzuki’s new twin-spar steel frame, lightweight aluminium swingarm, and bolt-on aluminium subframe. Modern electronics include three power modes and two traction control settings, with rider aids fully disengageable on the DR-Z4S and selectable options for the DR-Z4SM.

Jonathan Martin, Head of Motorcycles at Suzuki GB, commented: “These may be spiritual successors to the DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM, and they take everything that made those bikes so popular—such as their robustness and reliability—but they build on that foundation and reputation with a brand-new chassis and a new version of our 400cc single cylinder engine. Delivering superior levels of performance in their respective categories was our aim… Engine capacity remains the same as the previous DR-Z models, but cumulative torque is improved, which in turn gives a linear throttle response and predictable power delivery, important for negotiating tougher trails or picking up the throttle out of corners on the track.”

Both models come with Suzuki’s standard three-year manufacturer warranty and are eligible for an extended seven-year warranty package.
