Suzuki Motor Corporation proudly celebrated the 50th anniversary of its operations in the Philippines, commemorating five decades of business excellence, innovation, and local impact. The milestone event was hosted by Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH), the company’s official subsidiary in the country, and held on June 13 in Manila.
The grand ceremony welcomed approximately 400 guests, including Suzuki Motor Corporation’s Representative Director and President, Toshihiro Suzuki, and SPH President, Koichiro Hirao. Dealers, partners, and key stakeholders gathered to honor Suzuki’s enduring legacy in the Philippine market.
Suzuki’s journey in the Philippines began in 1975 with the establishment of Antonio Suzuki Corporation, a joint venture focused on motorcycle production and sales. The company was rebranded as Suzuki Philippines Inc. in 1985, and by 2012, it had scaled its production capacity to around 200,000 units annually to accommodate rising consumer demand. In addition to motorcycles, Suzuki expanded its product portfolio by launching automobile sales in 1999 and outboard motor sales in 2016.
The anniversary celebration not only honored past achievements but also underscored Suzuki’s continued commitment to innovation and growth in the Philippine market.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of the Philippines, the government officials, dealers, suppliers and customers who have supported Suzuki Philippines Inc. over the past 50 years. Demand for mobility in the Philippines is expected to continue to grow and is an important market for Suzuki. Suzuki aims for ‘an infrastructure mobility closely connected with people’s lives’, and is committed to providing attractive products in the Philippines.” – Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President.
